Yesterday, at the massive Galaxy Unpacked event hosted by Samsung in Paris, numerous new devices and features were introduced. The highlight of the event was the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 models. While these new foldable phones boast many features, do they not have the seamless update feature found in the Galaxy A55 model? Here are the details…
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 do not come with seamless update support
Seamless updates, also known as Continuous Update, allow devices to update while still in use, enabling background downloads. This feature, announced by Google for Android devices long ago, seems to have not been widely adopted by Samsung. The company recently introduced the first seamless update support with the Galaxy A55 model, but it appears that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 do not offer the same support.
The Galaxy A55 remains the first and only device to come with seamless update support. There were claims that this support would be extended to the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, but it seems that no such support has been provided yet. Users appreciate this feature, as it allows updates to be performed in the background without interrupting device use.
The new foldable phones come with enhanced features compared to previous models. They are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor with 12GB of RAM. Additionally, they stand out with features like Creative Portrait Mode, Live Translation, and AI enhancements in the Notes app.
